Restarting the Machine

It's been some time since I visited these cyberspace annals.
Since I got appointed as an Acting Deputy Principal, then a Deputy Principal, then an Acting Assistant Principal, and then finally as an Assistant Principal (it's a long, complex and mildly depressing story, so please don't ask) I have found myself being inhibited from posting my normal style of blog.

I'm a Boss

Anything I used to say as a 'normal' teacher could be interpreted in a different way  as a posting from a member of the 'Senior Management Team'

That was what I was told anyway, by a member of said SMT.

I, however have come to a conclusion.

Fück it.

I'll write what I bloody want.

I've only got another year or two to go, then the heady ambrosial plains of retirement beckon, and anything I do/write will have little effect on my colleagues or Stalag Luft III in Nuova Lazio where I work.

(BTW, DO NOT do an Image search for "Prison School" unless you have feelings of a paedophilic and sadistic bent.)

During the intervening time since I paused in posting, I have been very busy on an infamous UK-based forum called ARRSE.
This is mostly populated by serving and retired British Army personnel, so you may find that my posts have gone a touch cruder, exposed as I have been to the licentious, debased but very amusing soldiery.

I'll really get it going tomorrow, when I can think up a suitably engrossing and disgusting topic.

  1. a voice from cyber past ... there is much ranting, expletives, complaining, and general licking of wounds going over in the US at present. No doubt there will be plenty of us at the ready to get into a round or two of the more 'cruder' type of blogging. Four years of Trump has many of us increasing the sedatives, and contemplating leaving the country. I've threatened to move in with my sister in NZ

You and your sister will be very welcome down here in NZ.
If you send pictures in advance I'll try and find you some nice cow cockies as mates.

  5. Great to have you back and I look forward to reading the new coarser version.

There's something vaguely comical about job titles prefaced by the word "Acting". It sounds as if you're doing a funny turn. Which at least from my experience of teaching, is a lot of what it involves.

    1. Hiya looby, to be honest, my original version wasn't exactly refined, but I'll attempt to fulfil your baser needs.

I agree about the Acting, but it isn't that funny when your position and responsibilities (not forgetting pay)change without any bloody warning, 3 times in a year.

  6. Your posts can't possibly get much cruder. Or is that the goal you've set for yourself? Well, have at it and good luck. And careful what you publish. It's all fun and games until you're called into Human Resources and given the business.

    1. Human Resources in our neck of the woods has gone very quiet.
We think that they've run out of goats to sacrifice.

I will make it a personal goal to be much cruder, even more crude than Trump, if that is possible.
