ReplyDeleteI assume she's found your blog then :))
ReplyDeleteDon't swim in the beach on Marine Parade. It's death trap. Strong undertow from jsut a few metres in.
ReplyDeleteBut you already know that I hope.
Have a nice time. Try to relax.
Have a good time! Art Deco and some excellent wineries.
ReplyDeleteRemember St Paul's advice in his first letter to Timothy: "Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities." By "water" he may have been referring to uisge beatha, or "water of life", commonly known as "whisky".
I'm currently drinking an excellent (and cheap, which might interest anybody from the north of the Unravelling Kingdom) Chardonnay from the Mission, and I must say St Paul seems to be right; I'm feeling no pain.

The word verification is "fixti". With a litle rearrangement it expresses perfectly what Hawkes Bay wines can do for you.
Austan: Thanks. I'm writing this now on my Beloved's laptop, sitting in the front room of the Bach, sipping a pleasant Chardonnay from the vinyard behind us (Clearview Estate)while listening to the sea gently breaking pn the beach outside. *sigh*
ReplyDeletelooby: No. Not yet. I live in hope. Just don't mention it, OK?
VG: Swim in the sea? I think not. I don't mind open air pools, but no sea swimming in NZ thank you very much. Cairns yes, Napier no. Too cold. I am relaxing.
Ex-Clive: Thanks for the info, but I think I saw enough art deco last time to last me. Actually, feeling no pain is a good description of my current state. Long live the noble grape and all of its products. (With the posible exception of raisins)
Coromandel and Bay of Plenty beaches are lovley, except for when some idiotic foreigner navigates a huge container ship into a reef and cuases ongoing plooution of our lovely beaches for months.
ReplyDeleteYes already planning my next holiday escape to an ozzie beach.
Ahh good wine is indeed a true anaesthetic. Enjoy.
VG: I'm completely numb.
