Keep Going
As I predicted, I didn't have a good day.
My intestinal rumblings were beginning to be audible by those around me, and I had to spend quite a lot of time "communing with nature"
Thankfully, my classes were great, the kids attentive and eager to succeed and to please, but by the end of the day I was knackered. We had a meeting scheduled for 3:15, to discuss possible curriculum and timetable structural changes. This could be really important, and no matter how I was feeling, I wanted to be there. I did attend, but had to make my apologies and leave early as the internal methane pressure threatened to blow the "safety valve".
I was out of school and heading home before 4pm. That's the first time this year I've left Nuova Lazio High so early. My beloved welcomed me home with a big hug and a kiss, then said I was a bit smelly, and sent me off for a long hot shower.
So I sat down to a light dinner in my dressing gown, feeling very sorry for myself.
I'll still go into school tomorrow, I need to set an example to the troops, and quite honestly, it's almost more trouble to set out the relief lessons for a covering teacher than it is to struggle through the day.
One more day then the glorious weekend will be upon us.
