Not so Happy Feet
An Emperor Penguin arrived in New Zealand last week, and was seen wandering along a beach on the Kapiti coast, about 50km North of Wellington.

What is reality?
Being is a process of becoming, and is thus a state of uncertainty. Søren Aabye Kierkegaard 5 May 1813 – 11 November 1855)

The Finer Points of Social Etiquette 3 - Drinking Whisky
G'day pitiful inhabitants of blogworld, Auntie Twisted's back again. This will have to be my last attempt at improving your basic understanding of the vital areas of social etiquette, as duties demand that I leave for the Middle East tomorrow. Just keep your eyes open for any sudden deaths in Libya, Egypt and Yemen.

The Finer Points of Social Etiquette 2 - Drinking Tea
Hello all you poor sad inhabitants of blogworld, Auntie Twisted is back to continue with my educational series. My bloody nephew is still winging about my use of his precious computer, something inane like "I've got to finish my reports Auntie" Spineless wimp.

The Finer Points of Social Etiquette 1 - Farting in Public
Gas attack (BTW, why is the queen wearing a lampshade from my front room?) |
Hello you delightful people, Auntie Twisted here. My semi-spineless nephew has been forced kindly allowed me to make some contributions via his silly little blog to raising the level of etiquette amongst the poor sods who actually read it.

The delights of an afternoon nap.
One of the many benefits of getting older is the ability to drop of to sleep during the day. These little "Power Naps" revitalise the mind for the inevitable encounter with PC bullshit, AND as an (almost) senior citizen, it's recognised that it is a part of your normal ancient and decrepit life.

Well, there's a thing
I had my usual class of Year 10s last thing yesterday. Nothing really unusual except that I was being observed.

Waltzing the Dog
It was a crisp night last night, and it wasn't raining, so I decided to take our little doggie for a walk. Readers may remember the fiasco that was the melon-fuelled diarrhoeal nightmare called "walking the dog", but little Samo hadn't been near any type of fruit for some days so I felt reasonably safe.

No Kids Today
It's Teacher Only Day at Nuova Lazio High. It seems strange to be at a school without the sounds (shouts, screams, curses, singing, blows of meaty fists against concussed skulls) of our little kiddie-winks enjoying themselves (except the poor little sods who are on the receiving end of said meaty fists)

The furniture has arrived
I mentioned last week that we had bought some "pieces" of stylish furniture from a nice place in the Wairarapa. They arrived earlier this week, but we've only just got them upstairs into the lounge.

33 Years
Today is my wedding anniversary. My beloved and I have been together for 33 years, ever since our less-than-fantastic wedding in Glasgow. (See Weddings ) We have celebrated this event in many places and in many ways.
