Sunday Supreme

What a finish to the week.
First I win "New Professional of the Week" at Nuova Lazio High.

New Bloody Professional of the Week
Richard [of RBB] also won one of these prestigious awards a couple of weeks ago.
It allows the recipient to:
  1. Go first in line for the hot water in the staffroom (if you don't think that's important, you haven't seen the aggro when 20 or so tired and thirsty teachers have a scrummage at the taps, desperately trying to get enough sustenance to survive the next two hours)
  2. Leave the PD session in the last 10 minutes
  3. No duty for that week
  4. A $5 drink voucher, redeemable at the rare end-of-the-bloody-week sessions we sometimes have
  5. The chance to hear Ringo announcing in his particularly condescending way, your many and varied personality traits and working performance to the staff. (Actually that's being a bit unfair.  The more I get to know him, the more I'm convinced that he doesn't mean to be condescending or rude or abrupt, he just comes across that way.)
  6. Think that he's over 55, been teaching for 13 years and STILL get named "New Professional"
Don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Then I read that my little blog had won the much-coveted Gold Award from The Wine Guy.

Life doesn't get much better.

At least it will keep me going until we hear who has got the Principal's job in Nuova Lazio High

Just abit extra.  Everyone seems to be working and not blogging, so as I had a spare hour before we go out for my beloved's birthday lunch in Metropole in Wellington, I thought I'd just randomly skim through the bigger world of blogs.
I found:
Unloved out-of-date blogs
Increadibly intense blogs about jam???
Too many fundamentalist god-bothering blogs  I came back to this bet again, because I've noticed that almost all of these blogs have pictures of people with extreme fixed grins plastered across their faces.  Mind-melted? brainwashed? on drugs? Very Scary.

Scam blogs, trying to sell you something
Blogs with nothing but pictures (admitedly, some really lovely pics)
Blogs advertising their user was available for "certain enjoyable practices"?  What, foot massage? doing my ironing? marking my Year 10 scripts? What?
A girl who likes to show of her really long nails.  Good gracious, they must have been at least 4" long.  How do you scratch your arse with nails like that.  Could be a bit painful.  Would be good for picking your nose or collecting ear-wax though (Of course you'd have to wash your nails in-between)
A blog devoted to the Micky Mouse emblem, but evolved and mutated in many ways.(really strange, even for blog-world)

Ah well, Lunch calls at La Metropole.

  2. "Think that he's over 55, been teaching for 13 years and STILL get named "New Professional" "

That saves me saying it. When I started reading the post and saw that you and Richard had been recipients of a 'new' professional award I was thinking "how old is the rest of the staff?"

  3. I can't believe that I missed you or Richard winning this coveted prize! Did Man of Errors laugh much when Richard won?
