Cultural Sensitivity

Offensive?  Moi?
I read with interest the article in the Dominion Post about the decision of Te Papa to voluntarily restrict the presence of menstruating or pregnant women form viewing some Maori articles for future presentation to the public.

Idiots like Michael Laws et al are screaming and shouting about mono versus bi or multiculturalism.  Surely all they have to do is to state:
If you subscribe to a Maori worldview, it is recommended that pregnant or menstruating women do not view or touch these objects.  Simple, respectful, but leaving the choice upto the individual.
Personally speaking, I'd be happy to offend every religious/spiritual /mumbo-jumbo/god-botherer in the Aoteroa, but that's my own personal opinion, as it should be.
Must go and fry some placenta with onions.
Very tasty and very offensive.

Enjoy.

  2. "Why?"

Because it is good sport to do so. They deserve it.

  4. Nice wee rant hidden in responsible solution.Very sneaky! I posted something vaguely similar a few weeks ago after using the next post button a few times and only getting God botherers or gun freaks from the US.

  5. Thanks Alistair,
Ranting is good for the soul (if I have one, which I doubt)

I found the same thing when I went blog browsing last year. The number of god-botherers and gun freaks is a bit worrying in the US.
What is really scary is the number of god-botherers who are gun freaks.
You know, find God through the barrel of a Colt .45. Shudder
